Dallas Mavericks

Why did Dallas Mavs superstar Luka Doncic have a fan ejected from game against the Suns?

Luka Doncic had a fan ejected in the Dallas Mavericks’ 132-109 loss against the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday at the American Airlines Center.

According to Doncic, the fan, wearing a Suns jersey, had been heckling him throughout the first and second half of the game until Doncic asked for him to be removed in the third quarter.

According to ESPN reporter Tim MacMahon, the inciting fan comment to get removed was as follows: “Luka, you’re tired! Get your ass on the treadmill!”

During the postgame press conference, Doncic would claim that the fan was shouting profanities at him earlier in the game which led to his frustration.

Doncic also got into a testy exchange with MacMahon over the incident claiming the reporter was overly critical and explained his side of the incident.

“I’m not gonna say what the [fan] said, but I knew you were gonna be the first one to put out something like that,” said Doncic, “You’ll always seem to be the first one to put some bad stuff about me.”

“He was cursing me the whole first half, too,” said Doncic, “They paid for tickets, but I had enough. It’s a little bit of frustration.”

After the game Suns superstar Devin Booker expressed support for the fan to ESPN reporters.

“I appreciate the support. I don’t know what he said. I hope he didn’t cross too many lines,” said Booker, “I’ll be getting his information. If you can find it, let me know.”
