The Dallas Mavericks’ official protest over their 127-125 loss to the Warriors on March 22, 2023, was denied by the NBA on Thursday.

The Mavs claimed that a referee error on an out-of-bounds call gifted the Warriors two points in a game the Mavs lost by two and sought to have the game replayed from the moment of the supposed refereeing error.

The NBA did acknowledge that the officials could’ve been more clear in explaining the situation to the Mavs.

However, the NBA disagreed that it rose to the level of requiring the game to be replayed from that moment.

The NBA cited the fact that the basket in question took place with 14 minutes remaining in the game.

The NBA also pointed out that the Mavs took the lead in the game twice over the last four minutes and that the basket that resulted from the contested out-of-bounds call did not deprive the Mavs of a fair opportunity to win the game.
