DeAndre Jordan tweets apology to Cuban, Mavs fans
It took a little longer than some had hoped but DeAndre Jordan offered an apology to Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and fans of the team Friday on his Twitter account.
“I want to apologize to one of the best owners in the world @MCuban, the @DallasMavs and their fans,” Jordan tweeted.
A second tweet said: “I am humbled by @DallasMavs & @MCuban kindness and understanding. I am sorry to have a change of heart.”
On July 3, the free-agent center gave Cuban a verbal agreement to sign a four-year, $80 million deal to play with the Mavericks. On Wednesday, the first day contracts could be signed, Jordan instead re-signed with the Los Angeles Clippers, the team he has been with since being drafted out of Texas A&M in 2008.
