Dallas Mavericks coach Jason Kidd says Luka Doncic is ‘doubtful’ for Game 2 with Jazz
Luka Doncic was a N-O for Game 1, and while he’s returned to the court it does not like he’s returning to the game.
The Dallas Mavericks’ All-Star forward does not look like he will be available to play Game 2 of the first round playoff series against the Utah Jazz on Monday night at the American Airlines Center.
Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd said Monday morning that Doncic is “still doubtful” after the team’s walk through.
“We’ll see how he feels,” Kidd said this morning on a Zoom call with reporters. “I think he’s going in the right direction and doing more each day. He’s in a great place mentally.”
The team does not have to make the official announcement until 5 p.m. Tip time for Game 2 is 7:30 p.m.
With Doncic likely unavailable, the Utah Jazz are 5.5 point favorites to win Game 2.
With Doncic in street clothes on the bench in Game 1, the Mavericks lost 99-93.
Doncic did return to practice on Sunday. Somewhat. He was able to at least be on the court and do some things. The same for Monday.
With that “good news” there is a better chance he could return for Game 3 of the series, on Thursday night in Salt Lake City.
He sustained the injury on April 10, in the regular-season finale against the San Antonio Spurs.
