NBA players boycott Wednesday games; LeBron lets loose in name of social justice

The Milwaukee Bucks and Orlando Magic boycotted their playoff game Wednesday afternoon in the wake of the police shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

The other two games scheduled for Wednesday were postponed moments later as NBA stars and athletes from other sports reacted with support of the move. LeBron James posted minutes after the boycott was reported: “[Expletive] THIS MAN!!!! WE DEMAND CHANGE. SICK OF IT.”

Bucks vice president Alex Lasry supported the move in a post on Twitter.

“Some things are bigger than basketball. The stand taken today by the players and org shows that we’re fed up,” Lasry said. “Enough is enough. Change needs to happen. I’m incredibly proud of our guys and we stand 100% behind our players ready to assist and bring about real change.”

The other postponed games include the Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers and the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder.

It’s unclear when the postponed playoff games would be rescheduled in the NBA bubble near Orlando, Fla.
