Watch Luka Doncic hit half-court shot during Rising Stars game
Luka Doncic had 16 points and five assists for the World Team in the NBA Risings Stars Game Friday night in Chicago.
The Dallas Mavericks guard was 6 of 11 from the field, including 4 of 9 from the 3-point arc in 23 minutes.
His biggest — and longest — shot came at the buzzer to close out the first half. Doncic hit a shot from about four feet behind the half-court line to give the World Team an 81-71 lead. The USA team came back, however, to win big 151-131.
After connecting on the long-range shot off the glass, he and defender Trae Young, who attended Oklahoma and was traded for Doncic during the 2018 NBA draft, laughed and hugged in celebration. The shot was about 51 feet deep.
Doncic also played in the game as a rookie a year ago. He’ll become the youngest player to start in the NBA All-Star Game since LeBron James in 2005 on Sunday.
