Parsons won’t play Thursday, Chandler is probable

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Dallas Mavericks will be at least a man short when they play the Portland Trail Blazers at 9:30 p.m. Thursday at the Moda Center.

The Mavs announced that small forward Chandler Parsons will miss his sixth straight game with a sprain and bone bruise to his left ankle which he sustained during a Feb. 20 home win over the Houston Rockets. Meanwhile, center Tyson Chandler is listed as probable for Thursday’s game as he continues to recover from a left hip flexor he suffered during a home victory over Toronto on Feb. 24.

Chandler, who averages 10.6 points and is fifth in the NBA with 11.7 rebounds per game, has missed the past three games with his injury.

Although the Mavs could definitely use Chandler and Parsons as they reach the meat of their schedule, coach Rick Carlisle said: "You can’t put guys out there that aren’t ready.’’
