About the Pelicans: All appeared lost for New Orleans when All-Star forward Anthony Davis suffered a sprained right shoulder and top reserve Ryan Anderson was lost to a knee injury in a Feb. 21 game against Miami. But the Pelicans beat the Heat 105-91 to snap a four-game losing streak, and they also won their next five games — including Sunday’s 99-92 victory at Denver — to stay in contention for a playoff spot in the Western Conference. ... The Pelicans are also without guard Jrue Holiday (leg). ... Davis, Anderson and Holiday combine to average 54 points a game, more than half the team total of 99.8. ... This is the second game of a back-to-back for the Pelicans after their trip to Denver. ... Alexis Ajinca has averaged 16.7 points and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 75 percent from the field in the three games since replacing Davis in the starting lineup. ... Guard Tyreke Evans had 19 points and 11 assists in Friday’s 104-102 victory over Miami.

About the Mavs: Dallas is 20-10 at home this season, which is the worst home record among the top eight Western Conference teams. .
