About the Pelicans: All appeared lost for New Orleans when All-Star forward Anthony Davis suffered a sprained right shoulder and top reserve Ryan Anderson was lost to a knee injury in a Feb. 21 game against Miami. But the Pelicans beat the Heat 105-91 to snap a four-game losing streak, and they also won their next five games — including Sunday’s 99-92 victory at Denver — to stay in contention for a playoff spot in the Western Conference. ... The Pelicans are also without guard Jrue Holiday (leg). ... Davis, Anderson and Holiday combine to average 54 points a game, more than half the team total of 99.8. ... This is the second game of a back-to-back for the Pelicans after their trip to Denver. ... Alexis Ajinca has averaged 16.7 points and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 75 percent from the field in the three games since replacing Davis in the starting lineup. ... Guard Tyreke Evans had 19 points and 11 assists in Friday’s 104-102 victory over Miami.

About the Mavs: Dallas is 20-10 at home this season, which is the worst home record among the top eight Western Conference teams. . That home record includes Saturday’s 104-94 loss to the Brooklyn Nets, who are nine games under .500. ... The Mavs have lost their last two games. ... This is the finale of a two-game homestand for the Mavs, who start a three-game road trip Thursday in Portland. ... Center Tyson Chandler missed the last two games with a left hip flexor, and small forward Chandler Parsons has missed the last four games with a sprain and bone bruise to his left ankle. ... The Mavs are 2-1 against the Pelicans this season, winning 109-104 in New Orleans on Nov. 1 and 112-107 in Dallas on Dec. 10 before losing 109-106 in New Orleans on Jan. 25.
