About the Mavs: No word yet from coach Rick Carlisle on whether point guard Deron Williams (strained left calf) or forward Dirk Nowitzki (sore right Achilles) will play against the Celtics. Each player has missed the last four games, and they both went through a short practice session Tuesday in Boston. ... For his career, Nowitzki has averaged 25.6 points during games he’s played in Boston. ... Guard Devin Harris (sprained right big toe) is out of his walking boot, but isn’t expected to play anytime soon. ... This is the finale of a two-game road trip for the Mavs that began with Monday’s 93-77 loss to the New York Knicks. The Mavs actually led 39-36 at the half.
About the Celtics: They are 2-4 in their last six games, most recently Monday’s 106-105 loss in New Orleans. In that game the Celtics got 37 points and seven assists from point guard Isaiah Thomas, who averages 26.9 points per game. ...
