Texas Motor Speedway’s Duck Commander 500 delayed by weather
Rain in the area has delayed the start of the Duck Commander 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race had been scheduled to start at 6:46 p.m. and a projected re-start time is unknown at this point. But a track spokesman said the race will get in on Saturday.
TMS avoided most heavy rainfall throughout the afternoon, and had scattered drops fall in the hour leading up to when the race should have started. But five Air Titan jet dryers were on the track to get it into race conditions.
TMS is going into its 20th year of racing this season and, somewhat ironically, dealt with weather issues in the inaugural year.
