Hollywood star named honorary pace car driver for O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 at TMS

Texas Motor Speedway will have star power for Sunday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 500.

And we’re not talking about drivers such as Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch and Chase Elliott.

Hollywood star Brendan Fraser has been named as the honorary pace car driver, the track announced Wednesday.

Fraser is a fitting celebrity, considering he’s currently seen as former race car driver Cliff Steele/Robotman in the revival of DC Universe’s live-action series Doom Patrol.

Fraser, 50, is best known for his role as Rick O’Connell in The Mummy franchise, which has grossed $1.415 billion.

Tickets for TMS’ NASCAR triple-header weekend are available through the track’s website or by calling 817-215-8500.

The truck series runs Friday; the Xfinity Series on Saturday; and the Cup race on Sunday.
