IndyCar Series champion Josef Newgarden, Ed Carpenter and Spencer Pigot tested the series’ new aero kit on Wednesday at Texas Motor Speedway.

The full-day test session was the second in less than a month at TMS.

Newgarden, 26, won the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series championship, joining Sam Hornish Jr. (2006) and Ryan Hunter-Reay (2012) as the only American-born drivers to win the series championship since 2006.

The Verizon IndyCar Series returns in the 2018 season to Texas Motor Speedway on June 9.
