Rangers pitcher Myles Jaye played quarterback at Starr’s Mill High School in Fayetteville, Ga.
He graduated in 2010 and was drafted by the Blue Jays in the 17th round.
When the film Friday Night Lights was released in 2004, Jaye was in junior high, the perfect age to capture the fancy of a future gridiron star.
“I could relate to it and it was fun watching it with the guys,” said Jaye, 24, a right-handed, non-roster invitee to Rangers spring training. “It really puts it in perspective what high school football is really like. I loved it. I still love it.”
