Rangers spotlight: Catcher Bobby Wilson can’t resist ‘Game of Thrones’
Rangers catcher Bobby Wilson is a confessed Game of Thrones fanboy. The HBO series begins its sixth season April 24 and Wilson is stoked. He was wearing a shirt Thursday with one of the show’s character’s names: Hodor.
“I love history and I feel like that’s how it was during that time … I feel like it’s how it was,” he said.
The show follows different tribes fighting for power in mythical lands. The time period resembles the 15th century. Much of the action is fantastical, including cameos of fire-breathing dragons. But the fantasy aspect of the show isn’t what attracts Wilson.
“I like the whole package. I’m not really into fabled creatures,” he said. “But the show is entertaining from start to finish and it’s something I can’t wait until April 24th for it to start back up.”
