Delino DeShields drove mom crazy playing, replaying The Sandlot

Delino DeShields used to drive his mom crazy by replaying his favorite sports film of all-time every day.

The Sandlot follows a group of young, baseball-loving buddies and their misadventures, which include dealing with a baseball-eating dog called The Beast who lives just beyond their baseball field.

“I’d wake up every single morning and watch that,” said DeShields, who was 8 months old when the film was released in April 1993. “It’s something about being a kid and enjoying the game of baseball.”

My mom used to get annoyed with it. If I watched it now I could probably recite every single line,” he said. “There are some lessons in there too.”
