Texas Rangers sign lefty Cesar Ramos; announced minor league, scout award winners

The Texas Rangers signed left-handed pitcher Cesar Ramos to a minor league deal with an invitation to major league spring training.

Ramos, 31, had a 2.75 ERA in 65 relief appearances in 2015 with the Los Angeles Angels. Ramos will work as a starter in spring training. He made 10 career major league starts, including seven with the Tampa Bay Rays in 2014. He was 1-3 with a 4.46 ERA in 42 1/3 innings pitched.
