Troy Tulowitzki’s three-run homer in the sixth gave the Toronto Blue Jays a comfortable five-run lead and their bullpen made it stand. Toronto stayed alive with a 5-1 win over the Texas Rangers Sunday night at Globe Life Park. Game 4 is at 3:07 p.m. Monday at Globe Life Park.

Pitching: The Blue Jays got on the board with a run in the third after Dioner Navarro led off with a double, moved to the third on Kevin Pillar’s single and scored on an unassisted double play by Rougned Odor. Another double to start the fourth greeted starter Martin Perez in the fourth. After Josh Donaldson moved to third on a sacrifice fly, Perez intentionally walked Edwin Encarnacion. He then unintentionally walked Chris Colabello and Troy Tulowitzki, which scored a run to give the Blue Jays a 2-0 lead.

Two singles to start the sixth ended Perez’s night. Chi Chi Gonzalez took over with runners on the corners and no outs. Gonzalez walked Encarnacion on 10 pitches to load the bases. After Chris Colabello hit into a 3-2-3 double play, the Rangers decided to pitch to Tulowitzki with first base open. He made them pay with a three-run homer homer to left on a 3-2 pitch to put Toronto up 5-0.

Hitting: Blue Jays’ starter Marco Estrada the first eight batters before Hanser Alberto’s two-out double in the third. Estrada retired Delino DeShields to end the inning. The Rangers finally got on the board in the sixth after Andrus and Hamilton reached on singles with one out, which was the end of Estrada’s night. Aaron Loup came in to face Odor, who grounded out to third, which scored Andrus to pull Texas to within 5-1. Mark Lowe replaced Loup and caught Robinson Chirinos looking to end the inning.

Notable: Texas turned double plays in four consecutive innings between the third and sixth ... Josh Hamilton’s single in the fifth snapped an 0 for 31 postseason slump ... The crowd of 50,941 Sunday night is the 14th largest in Globe Life Park history.
