1st inning: Rangers starter Martin Perez retired the side on 13 pitches, including nine strikes, and struck out Jose Bautista to end the top half. Delino DeShields, Shin-Soo Choo and Prince Fielder were retired in order by Blue Jays’ starter Marco Estrada, including a swinging strikeout by Fielder to end the inning. Rangers 0, Blue Jays 0.

2nd inning: Both pitchers stayed on task and retired the side in order. Perez added another strikeout of Chris Colabello and Estrada forced two groundouts and got Elvis Andrus to fly out to deep center. Rangers 0, Blue Jays 0.

3rd inning: Dioner Navarro led off with a double over the head of center fielder Delino DeShields’ head. He moved to third on Kevin Pillar’s single and scored on an unassisted double play by Rougned Odor. Hanser Alberto doubled with two outs for the Rangers’ first hit against Estrada but DeShields flew out to end the inning. Blue Jays 1, Rangers 0.

4th inning: After a lead-off double by Josh Donaldson, Perez issued a one-out intentional walk to Edwin Encarnacion before walking the next two batters, including Troy Tulowitzki with the bases loaded. Second baseman Rougned Odor made a quick turn on Navarro’s grounder to start an inning-ending 4-6-3 double play. In the bottom half, Navarro continued to cruise. He struck out Choo, forced Fielder to pop out and got Mitch Moreland to fly out to left. Blue Jays 2, Rangers 0.

5th inning: The Rangers turned a double play for the third consecutive inning and it kept a run off the board. After a lead-off single and error on DeShields in center put Pillar at second, he moved to third on a sac-bunt. Odor caught Ben Revere’s soft liner at second and threw to third to double up Pillar and end the top half. Josh Hamilton singled to right to snap an 0-for-31 postseason slump but Odor was called out looking and Robinson Chirinos grounded out to end the inning. Blue Jays 2, Rangers 0.

6th inning: Two singles to start the inning was all for Perez. The Rangers replaced him with rookie Chi Chi Gonzalez with runners on the corners and no outs with Encarnacion at the plate. He walked Encarnacion on 10 pitches to lead the bases. Colabello grounded to Moreland at first who threw home to get Donaldson. Chirinos threw back to Moreland to complete the 3-2-3 double play. Gonzalez and the Rangers decided pitch to Tulowitzki with first base open and he made them pay. His three-run homer homer to left on a 3-2 pitch gave Toronto a 5-0 lead. With one out, DeShields singled and moved to second on Choo’s groundout but was stranded when Fielder grounded out to third. Blue Jays 5, Rangers 0.

7th inning: After a couple groundouts to start the inning, a single and walk at the top of the order prompted the Rangers to replace Gonzalez with Ross Ohlendorf on the mound. It worked. Ohlendorf forced Bautista to pop out to shortstop to end the inning. The Rangers finally got on the board in the bottom half. Andrus and Hamilton singled with one out which was the end of Estrada’s night. Aaron Loup came in to face Odor, who grounded out to third, which scored Andrus. Mark Lowe replaced Loup and caught Chirinos looking to end the inning. Blue Jays 5, Rangers 1.

8th inning: Ohlendorf remained on the mound and worked around a two-out single by Tulowitzki by getting Navarro to pop out. Aaron Sanchez started the inning for the Jays and retired the side, including an inning-ending strikeout looking of Choo. Blue Jays 5, Rangers 1.

9th inning: Closer Shawn Tolleson pitched a perfect ninth for Texas. Roberto Osuna pitched the bottom of the inning for Toronto and retired Fielder, Moreland Andrus in order to end the game. Blue Jays 5, Rangers 1 (Final).
