Former fan favorite and World Series champ announced as Texas Rangers coach
Former Texas Rangers fan favorite Travis Jankowski will join the team as a first-base coach under the franchise’s new manager, Skip Schumaker.
The move to coaching comes directly after Jankowski’s final playing season, during which he hit .244 with two RBIs playing for the Chicago White Sox, Tampa Bay Rays and New York Mets.
Jankowski played for the Rangers for two seasons, including the 2023 World Series-winning team. He came up big in Game 4 after Adolis Garcia went down with injury in the third game of that series, going 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs.
The Rangers’ entire coaching staff for the 2026 MLB season can be viewed on the team’s website.
