Rangers boast top-5 hot dog in MLB

Hot dogs are a staple in any big-league ballpark. So where did the Texas Rangers’ “Boomstick” land in Casino.org’s recent ranking of all 30 Major League Baseball teams’ offerings?

The “Boomstick” was deemed the fifth-best hot dog in MLB, behind the San Diego Padres’ “Barrio Dog,” the Los Angeles Dodgers’ “Dodger Dog” and the Arizona Diamondbacks’ “XL Footlong Sonoran Style Dog.” The Chicago Cubs’ “Footlong Hot Dog” came in first.

The hot dogs were ranked based on size, creativity, toppings, messiness and cost on a weighted scale from one to 100. Longer, cheaper, less messy and more creative hot dogs with more toppings received better scores.

The “Boomstick” received a 72.4 out of 100. At 24 inches, the “Boomstick” works out to about $1.37 per inch. It scored 5 of 5 in napkin necessity and creativity. The rankings noted that the “Boomstick” had two unique ingredients: Chili and nacho cheese.

The Boomstick will be available this week as the Rangers take on the Kansas City Royals in a series that continues at 1:35 p.m. Thursday.
