Texas Rangers place catcher Kyle Higashioka on the 10-day injury list
Catcher Kyle Higashioka is the latest Texas Ranger to catch the injury bug, heading to the 10-day injury list with a mild left intercostal strain retroactively to April 30.
Higashioka is in his first season with the Rangers after signing a two-year $13.5 million deal in the offseason and has hit .254 with one home run and eight RBIs to start the season.
The Rangers were also busy on the trade market, shipping Daniel Robert to the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for Enrique Segura.
Robert has spent his entire career with the Rangers organization after being drafted by the team in the 2017 MLB Draft and making his MLB debut last season.
Segura is pitching in Clearwater, with the Phillies’ Single-A affiliate, and has a 1-2 record with a 3.18 ERA.
The Rangers also recalled pitcher Caleb Boushley from Round Rock, marking his second stint with the team this season and putting their roster at the 40-man limit.
