What injury has sidelined Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia?
Texas Rangers manager Bruce Bochy announced Tueday that outfielder Adolis Garcia would miss time with an oblique injury.
Garcia was scheduled to get an MRI for the injury.
“Feels it in the oblique, we’re gonna get him looked at, MRI’s on the left side, so he looks like he’s gonna miss a little bit of time, we’re hoping not much,” said Bochy, “I can’t tell you [how much time he will miss] until we get the results from the MRI.”
Bochy said Garcia told the team about the discomfort on Tuesday. The Cuban native previously suffered from an oblique injury during the Rangers World Series championship run and missed the final two games of the World Series against Arizona.
Last season Garcia hit .224 with 25 home runs and 85 RBIs. And while he did suffer from a knee injury, neither he nor Chris Young thought the injury was the cause of the decrease in production.
Garcia is hoping for a bounce-back season after seeing his numbers decrease across the board after a career year in 2023 that saw him win a Golden Glove and earn an all-star selection.
