Texas Rangers have three prospects on MLB Pipeline’s top 100 of 2025

The Texas Rangers had three players earn spots on MLB Pipeline’s top 100 prospects for 2025.

Those players were shortstop Sebastian Walcott (No. 17) and pitchers Kumar Rocker (No. 44) and Alejandro Rosario (No. 50).

All three players rose from last year’s rankings, with Rosario, the biggest riser, ranked as the No. 86 prospect for the 2024 season.

Rosario, last season’s Rangers Minor League Pitcher of the Year, burst onto the scene going 4-5 with a 2.24 ERA in 88.1 innings of work.

Rosario was born in Miami, Fla. and attended the University of Miami for college before being drafted in the fifth round of the 2023 MLB Draft by the Rangers.

The second-highest climber was Rocker, previously ranked No. 58 for the 2024 season. He made his MLB debut last season, pitching three games for the Rangers in September.

Rocker went 0-2 with a 3.68 ERA in 11.2 innings of work and could compete for a spot on the Rangers opening-day roster.

Hailing from Watkinsville, Ga., Rocker was a highly touted prospect after a highly decorated career at Vanderbilt and was drafted with the No. 3 selection in the 2022 MLB Draft by the Texas Rangers.

Rocker and Rosario rank among the top ten right-handed pitchers in the minors according to the list with them coming in at No. 8 and No. 10 respectively.

Walcott, the top prospect in the Rangers organization has continued to rise from a No. 23 in 2024. He is the fourth-ranked shortstop in the minors and at 18 years old is tied for the youngest player among the top five at his position.

Born in the Bahamas, the Rangers signed Walcott as an international free agent in 2023 to a $3.2 million bonus, the sixth highest of any international signing that year.

According to MLB Pipeline’s prospect points, which award 100 points to the No. 1 player, 99 points to the No. 2 player and so on, the Rangers had the 10th-best farm system in the majors.
