Texas Rangers add 3 new coaches; staff now complete for 2025 season

The Texas Rangers finalized their coaching staff for the 2025 season with three additions joining seven returnees and recently added assistant hitting coach Justin Viele.

The new additions are bench coach Luis Urueta, assistant pitching coach Dave Bush and bullpen coach Jordan Tiegs.

Bush previously served as director of pitching strategy for the Rangers, including on-the-field and front office responsibilities.

From 2020-2023, Bush served as the Boston Red Sox bullpen coach before joining the Rangers. He had 187 starts over a nine-year career which included 17 games for the Rangers in 2011.

Tiegs has spent the past six seasons with the organization and is in his first major league coaching position. From 2022-24 he was the organization’s pitching coordinator after a stint as pitching coach for the Arizona League and High-A Hickory Crawdads.

The returning members of the coaching staff are pitching coach Mike Maddux, offensive coordinator Donnie Ecker, first base coach Corey Ragsdale, third base coach Tony Beasley, catching coach Bobby Wilson, assistant hitting coach Seth Conner, and quality control coach Brett Hayes.

Bruce Bochy is entering his third season as manager. He is 168-156 during his Rangers tenure.
