Colby Lewis spotted the New York Yankees a 2-0 lead in the second but them down over the next four innings as the Texas Rangers snapped a three-game losing streak with a 5-2 win Wednesday night at Globe Life Park.

Pitching: The Yankees took a 2-0 lead in the second on Carlos Beltran’s leadoff homer and Jacob Ellsbury’s RBI single to center. But Lewis settled down and went six innings, holding the Yankees to just three hits his final four innings. Keone Kela pitched a perfect seventh. Tanner Scheppers pitched a scoreless eighth and Shawn Tolleson earned his 18th save with a perfect ninth.

Hitting: Texas scored three times in the second on RBI singles by Josh Hamilton, Shin-Soo Choo and Delino DeShields to take a 3-2 lead. Adrian Beltre started the inning with a single to left, the Rangers first hit since the first inning Tuesday. Texas added another run to take a 4-2 lead in the fifth as Beltre led off with a single and scored on Hamilton’s ground out. Hamilton singled in Prince Fielder in the seventh to make it 5-2.

Notable: Lewis has gone at least six innings and allowed three or fewer runs in 14 of his 21 starts this season ... Beltre had two singles Wednesday and has nine hits in his last nine games ... Choo has three singles Wednesday and has 10 hits in his last seven games.
