Texas Rangers star selected as all-star replacing injured Twin Carlos Correa

The Texas Rangers got their third all-star when shortstop Corey Seager was selected as an injury replacement for Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa who had to withdraw with plantar fasciitis in his right foot.

This is the fifth all-star selection of Seager’s career and his third in a row with the Rangers.

He played for the National League as a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2016 and 2017.

In his four previous All-Star Games, he is 0-for-5 with a strikeout.

Seager joins second baseman Marcus Semien and reliever Kirby Yates as the team’s all-star selections.

Rangers manager Bruce Bochy will lead the American League team.

The 94th annual MLB All-Star Game will be played at Globe Life Field on Tuesday. The game will be broadcast on FOX, starting at 7 p.m.
