MLB All-Star update: Semien leads at second, where do the other Texas Rangers rank?
The MLB released their final all-star game voting results before phase 1 voting ends on Thursday at 11 a.m.
In Phase 1 the top two vote-getters at each position (and the top six outfielders) will move on to Phase 2 where the starters will be determined.
So far the Rangers have a chance to send six players to the all-star game though several are on the cusp of being eliminated in phase 1.
Marcus Semien still leads all Rangers and AL second baseman with 1,414,056 votes. Corey Seager and Josh Jung are both currently in second at their respective positions and seem headed toward Phase 2.
This would be Jungs first all-star selection and Seager’s fourth.
The Rangers have three players on the cusp of making the final phase of voting.
Robbie Grossman and Jonah Heim both need small pushes to go from third place to second to make what would be both players’ first all-star game appearance.
Adolis Garcia sits in seventh place and needs to move up to sixth to make his second all-star game appearance.
Rangers players and fans won’t have to wait long as the MLB Network will reveal the top vote-getters at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
