Where did Marcus Semien and other Texas Rangers place in the initial MLB All-Star voting?
The MLB released their first batch of results for all-star voting on Monday and multiple Texas Rangers were among the top vote-getters at their position.
No second baseman in the majors had more votes than Marcus Semien’s 707,712. Semien was the only Rangers player to lead their position in votes.
If the voting held, this would be the second all-star section of Semien’s career.
Jonah Heim, Corey Seager and rookie Josh Jung all placed second at their positions.
Heim and Jung would make their first all-star teams and Seager would make his fourth appearance at the Midsummer Classic.
Nathaniel Lowe was fourth among AL first basemen and Robbie Grossman was fourth at the DH position. Lowe and Grossman would both be first-time all-stars if selected.
The Rangers RBI leader Adolis Garcia currently has the sixth-most votes in the outfield. This would be Garcia’s second all-star selection and first since 2021.
Fans can vote five times a day before phase one balloting ends on June 22. The 2023 MLB All-Star game takes place at 7 pm on July 11 at T-Mobile Park.
