A piece of Texas Rangers and MLB history is available for auction through Dec. 16.

But it’s going to cost you.

Hall of Fame pitcher Nolan Ryan’s final major league contract, signed in August 1991, is up for auction online at Huggins & Scott Auctions through Dec. 16. The auction opened Friday starting at $5,000. As of Monday evening, there had been no bids. So shoot your shot. Or, throw your pitch.

Ryan’s contract, which included a $300,000 signing bonus, was an addendum to his original 1989 contract with the Rangers after he left the Houston Astros as a free agent after the 1988 season.

The document includes the signatures of Ryan and former President George W. Bush, who was general managing partner of the Rangers’ ownership group from 1989 until he was elected Texas governor in 1994. Bush was elected president in 2000 and reelected in 2004.

Ryan’s initial contract with the Rangers was signed on Dec. 7, 1988. His 1989 deal served as the base agreement foe Ryan’s final five seasons in the league until he retired after the 1993 season.
