Fans can attend NLCS, World Series at Globe Life Field. Here’s how to get tickets.
What has been strongly reported for the past two weeks is now official:
Globe Life Field can finally welcome fans.
A limited number of fans, of course, but fans nonetheless.
Approximately 11,500 tickets for all games of the National League Championship Series and the 116th World Series will go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday at mlb.com and texasrangers.com.
These games will mark the first at Globe Life Field in which fans are allowed to attend and also the first games of the 2020 MLB season fans can attend amid the coronavirus pandemic.
The 116th World Series is the first Fall Classic in history to be played at a neutral site. The NLCS is scheduled for Oct. 12-18, and the World Series is scheduled for Oct. 20-28.
“To see fans in our ballpark to see baseball is going to be very exciting,” Rangers executive vice president Rob Matwick said. “This is what we’ve been pointing toward since we started the construction four years ago. To see it actually come to fruition is pretty significant.”
While fans will be allowed into Globe Life Field, the $1.2 billion home of the Texas Rangers, they won’t be allowed to get too close to the field and will still be subject to CDC guidelines during the pandemic.
▪ No seats within 20 feet of where a player can be located on the field, bullpen or dugouts will be sold.
▪ Masks/face coverings will be required for all fans, with the lone exception for times when eating or drinking at their seats.
▪ Fans will be encouraged to use hand-sanitizing stations throughout the ballpark.
▪ Bags will be prohibited except for those needed for medical purposes or manufactured diaper bags that accompany infants and toddlers.
“The key is getting fan cooperation,” Matwick said. “If we wear masks, people maintain their distance, we’ll have a safe event.”
There are also a few catches with purchasing tickets:
▪ Rangers season-ticket holders will have access to a limited number of tickets during a presale Friday. Registered users will have a presale Monday.
▪ Tickets in the seating bowl will be sold in pods, which are groups of four contiguous seats. Individuals may purchase a limit of one pod per NLCS and World Series game.
▪ Seats within a pod can’t be broken apart for sale.
▪ Posts will be at least 6 feet form each other.
Those hoping to rent suites can call 972-RANGERS or visit texasrangers.com. There will be no food and beverage options during the postseason.
