Watch Texas Rangers rookie Leody Taveras collect first-career homer against LA Dodgers

Texas Rangers rookie Leody Taveras hit his first career big-league home run on Saturday night.

The center fielder followed Ronald Guzman’s homer to center with a homer to left-center field. The solo shots against the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Ross Stripling pulled the Rangers to within 3-2 in the third inning. They were the Rangers’ first back-to-back homers since July 19, 2019.

The Dodgers had taken a 3-0 lead in the top of the inning on Cody Bellinger’s two-run homer to right against Texas starter Lance Lynn. It’s Bellinger’s ninth homer of the season.

Taveras’ homer was measured at 394 feet and 101 mph by Statcast. Guzman’s was measured at 431 feet and 107 mph. Bellinger’s came in at 402 feet and 107 mph.
