Rangers OF Danny Santana lands on injured list; Anderson Tejeda recalled
Danny Santana landed on the injured list Sunday.
The Texas Rangers decided to go the IL route with Santana, who last played Tuesday and has been limited to batting left-handed and coming off the bench as a pinch-runner with a right forearm strain. Santana started the season 1 for 17 at the plate.
The Rangers recalled infielder Anderson Tejeda from the alternate training site to provide depth. Tejeda, 22, has never played in the big leagues but was with the team on its taxi squad.
Tejeda was 4 for 7 with two home runs and five RBIs in limited action during the Rangers’ summer camp.
The Rangers are off on Monday before starting a three-game series at Oakland on Tuesday.
