Texas Rangers start trimming major league camp roster with 13 players moved

The Texas Rangers made a slew of roster moves on Friday and another on Saturday.

In all, 13 players were moved, including 10 pitchers.

Right-hander Ariel Jurado was optioned to Triple A Nashville while pitchers Kyle Cody, Tyler Phillips and infielder Anderson Tejada were optioned to Double A Frisco.

Pitchers Jason Bahr, Kyle Bird, Tim Dillard, Ian Gibaut, Taylor Guerrieri, Wei-Chieh Huang, Arturo Reyes and catcher Sam Huff were reassigned to minor league camp.

On Saturday, outfielder Henry Ramos was assigned to minor league camp, which opens Monday in Surprise.

The Rangers have 55 players remaining in their major league camp but that number might dwindle a little more on Monday.
