Houston Astros’ apology draws universal scorn. ‘Give back the rings. Then [#$@^&] off.’

The plumes of smoke and burning stench you may have seen and smelled started wafting out of Florida this morning.

It was the Houston Astros’ dumpster fire of a public relations nightmare that blew up Thursday morning at their West Palm Beach spring training facility.

The organization held a press conference with owner Jim Crane, manager Dusty Baker and select players to give a public apology for the sign-stealing scandal that cost manager A.J. Hinch and general manager Jeff Luhnow their jobs last month.

But it didn’t go well, especially from Crane, who tried to tell the world that the cheating didn’t help the Astros win the World Series in 2017.

Media members, players and celebrities, especially some die-head Los Angeles Dodgers fans — who lost the ‘17 World Series to Houston in seven games — are more annoyed than ever in the wake of the Astros puny apology.
