Can Texas Rangers fans bring their own food, water to Globe Life Field? Yes, but...
Among the many concerns Texas Rangers fans have about Globe Life Field — from the affordability of tickets to if the thing is going to be done on time — is what food and beverages they will be permitted to bring into the new ballpark.
The good news is that, yes, outside food and water is allowed. Just don’t go crazy.
The Rangers revealed their guest policy Wednesday, breaking it down into four categories. The first two below are the most significant for fans, and are designed, in part, to help facilitate easier security screenings and quicker entry into the ballpark.
One bag, one bottle
The Rangers are allowing outside food into Globe Life Field, but, per their outside food and beverage policy, it must fit into a clear gallon-sized plastic bag. Fans are also allowed one non-flavored, sealed plastic water bottle no larger than one liter. Considerations will be made for infants and fans with dietary issues.
Backpacks limited
The bag policy states that all backpacks, excluding single-compartment drawstring bags that do not exceed the MLB bag-size requirements of 16 inches x 16 inches x 8 inches, are prohibited. Exceptions will be made for bags carried for medical reasons or manufactured diaper bags that accompany infants and young children.
No smoking
Smoking — including e-cigarettes, vapes or any other smoking device — is not permitted inside. A designated smoking area will be located outside at the Southwest Entry on the Main Concourse. Guests must have their ticket, and alcohol is not permitted in the smoking area.
In and out
Re-entry is allowed at specific doors at all entries from the time the ballpark doors open until the start of the game. Re-entry is allowed after the game starts only at the Plaza Entry on the Main Concourse and at the Southeast Entry on the Suite Level. All guests must be screened before entering again.
