LHP Ross Detwiler

(Dec. 11 trade with Nationals) The former first-round draft pick was offered a chance to return to the rotation with the Rangers, a place he previously excelled with the Nationals before working out of the bullpen in 2014.

RHP Ross Ohlendorf

(Jan. 24, free agent) The Austin native signed a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training after fighting a back injury in the Nationals’ system in 2014. He compiled a 22-33 record from 2007-13 with a 4.88 ERA in 124 games, including 80 starts.

RHP Kyuji Fujikawa

(Dec. 15, free agent) After 12 dominant seasons in Japan, the reliever saw limited action with the Cubs the past two seasons after having Tommy John surgery in June 2013. He could be an integral piece to the Rangers’ bullpen in 2015.

RHP Yovani Gallardo

(Jan. 19, trade with Brewers) The Trimble Tech graduate returned home in exchange for three prospects — shortstop Luis Sardinas and pitchers Corey Knebel and Marcos Diplan. Gallardo is expected to be the No. 2 pitcher in the rotation behind Derek Holland. He led the league with 33 starts and went 16-9 in 2012.

C Carlos Corporan

(Jan. 21, trade with Astros) The 31-year-old hit .235 with six homers and 19 RBIs in 55 games with the Astros in 2014. He’ll provide backup for Robinson Chirinos. The Rangers traded pitching prospect Akeem Bostik, a second-round pick out of high school in 2013.

OF Carlos Peguero

(Jan. 13, free agent) Peguero, 28, hit 30 home runs for Triple A Omaha in 2014 and has seen major league time in each of the past four seasons, collecting nine homers, 28 RBIs and a .196 batting average.

OF Delino DeShields, Jr.

(Dec. 11, Rule 5 draft) DeShields, 22, spent the first five years of his career in the Houston Astros system after being a first-round pick in 2010. He hit .236 with home runs and 57 RBIs in 114 games with Double A Corpus Christi a year ago. He had 241 stolen bases in five minor league seasons. — Stefan Stevenson
