Pitching: Nick Martinez held the Rockies scoreless on five hits in six innings — the longest outing for a Rangers pitcher this spring — and likely cemented his spot as the fifth starter in the rotation.

Hitting: Leonys Martin gave the Rangers the lead with a two-run homer to center in the third. It’s his second this spring. Prince Fielder doubled in the second.

Notable: Martinez came off the mound to field a bunt toward third and spun to make the out at first in the fourth.
