Rangers peppered with 19 hits by Brewers

Pitching: Starter Colby Lewis allowed three runs on eight hits in five innings, pitching out of more trouble in the third and fourth innings. Left-hander Joe Beimel struggled in two-thirds of an inning, allowing three runs on three hits, including RBIs against two left-handed hitters. Jamey Wright failed to record an out against seven batters, allowing six runs on five hits and two walks. Tanner Scheppers made his first A game appearance of the spring, allowing singles but no runs in one inning.

Hitting: Thomas Field drove in Nomar Mazara in the fifth with a single to right-center but he was thrown out when he was caught between first and second to end the inning. Tomas Telis doubled off the right-center wall in the second. Ryan Rua had two hits, including a double that was lost by both outfielders between left and center.

Notable: Telis threw out a runner attempting to steal second in the sixth. Minor leaguer Jimmy Reyes struck out two and didn’t allow a hit in 1 2/3 innings.
