Rangers take winning streak on the road against Tigers

Can the Rangers keep it going on the road? Against good teams? We’re going to find out.

They begin a nine-game, 10-day, three-city road trip against Tigers in Detroit Friday night. A nine-game win streak is on the line as Nick Martinez makes his sixth start of the year. Martinez is working on five-days rest after allowing three runs on seven hits in six innings Saturday against the Athletics. Two of the three games against the Tigers will be national telecast. Saturday’s game is on KDFW/Ch. 4 and Sunday’s game is on ESPN.

Tigers’ slugger Miguel Cabrera has a left oblique strain and might miss the entire series.

After an day off on Monday, the Rangers continue their road trip with three in Boston and three in Toronto. They return for a series against the Tampa Bay Rays on May 29. The Tigers and Red Sox, just like the Rangers, are hovering just above .500. The Blue Jays are six under, but are playing better since starting the season 1-9.
