Major League Baseball declines to comment on Ingrid Andress singing the national anthem

Major League Baseball is declining to comment on country singer Ingrid Andress’s admission that she was drunk singing the national anthem before the Home Run Derby on Monday at Globe Life Field.

Many panned Andress’ performance noting she was frequently off key while singing the Star Spangled Banner.

Andress took to social media Tuesday to apologize for her performance, and say she’s checking herself into a rehab facility.

The Star-Telegram also reached out to the All Star week host Texas Rangers, but a spokesperson deferred to the league for an official statement.

MLB booked Andress, but it’s not clear how the selection was made.

A spokesperson did not respond to a follow-up email from the Star-Telegram asking about the process of selecting national anthem singers for the home run derby or Tuesday’s all-star game.
