Social media goes wild: MLB fans critical of singer Ingrid Andress’ rendition of national anthem
Ingrid Andress is a four-time Grammy nominated country singer.
But the country star, known best for her breakthrough single, “More Hearts Than Mine,” was out of her lane and her depth Monday night at Globe Life Field.
Andress’ disappointing rendition of the national anthem, before MLB Home Run Derby, went viral for all the wrong reasons.
Players were seen covering their mouths to hide their laughter, reminiscent of awful anthems sung by track star Carl Lewis and actress Roseanne Barr.
But singing was not their field of choice.
It is for Andress, and the social media reactions to her version were epic.
Comments included: worst anthem ever, my ears are bleeding and that’s worst thing that has happened to our country in the last 48 hours.
Judge for yourselves.
Here are some of the comments.
Actor Nick Turturro, best known for his roles in New York City based films and on the television series Blue Bloods and NYPD Blue, chimed in a well.
