Rains delay second-round start of Dean & DeLuca Invitational
Overnight and morning rains have placed today’s second round of the Dean & DeLuca Invitational in a weather delay at Colonial Country Club. The latest projection from PGA Tour officials is for a 5 1/2-hour delay, with second-round play expected to start at 12:30 p.m.
If the fresh start time holds, some key adjusted tee times include Jordan Spieth, the No. 2 player in the world golf rankings, in the 1:36 p.m. group off the 10th tee with Charl Schwartzel and Matt Kuchar. Also starting at No. 10 in the 1:25 p.m. group will be Brandt Snedeker, Jim Furyk and Bill Haas. Adam Scott, the No. 7 player in the world rankings, will join British Open champ Zach Johnson and defending Colonial champ Chris Kirk in a 6:19 p.m. group at the first tee.
Bryce Molder, the first-round leader who shot a 6-under-par 64 in Thursday’s round, is slated to begin second-round play at 5:15 p.m. because of the delay.
Adjust tee times for Tarrant County residents include Chad Campbell (noon., first tee), Franklin Corpening (2:09 p.m., first tee), Martin Piller (7:05 p.m., first tee), Tom Hoge (2:09 p.m., 10th tee), J.J. Henry (4:19 p.m., 10th tee) and Ryan Palmer (4:32 p.m., 10th tee).
At this point, no golfer has started second-round play. All tee times for Friday’s round are delayed by 5 1/2 hours from the scheduled start.
