FIFA World Cup

These matchups will decide who’s playing in World Cup semifinal at AT&T Stadium

No venue has hosted more FIFA World Cup matches than AT&T Stadium, and there’s still one more to be played.

With the quarterfinals on the horizon, which teams could play in the World Cup semifinal in Arlington, the city’s ninth and final match?

The two quarterfinal matchups that will determine who advances will be France vs. Morocco and Spain vs. Belgium, with all four teams ranking among the top 10 in the world.

No. 1 France and No. 6 Morocco will square off at 3 p.m. Thursday at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, and No. 3 Spain and No. 8 Belgium will play at 2 p.m. Friday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

The winners will meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday at AT&T Stadium with a berth in the World Cup final on the line.

France is led by superstar Kylian Mbappé, whose seven goals are tied with Norway’s Erling Haaland for second-most in this tournament, trailing only Argentina’s Lionel Messi (eight).

Mbappé has scored or assisted in every World Cup game for Les Bleus.

Morocco is the last remaining team from Africa and advanced after a 3-0 victory over Canada, led by Azzedine Ounahi’s two goals. The Atlas Lions finished an all-time best fourth in the last World Cup and hope a win over France will set them up to make their first World Cup final.

France is a hefty -355 favorite at DraftKings to advance to the semifinals, implying a 78% probability. A bettor would have to wager $355 to profit $100 on a France victory.

Of the four possible teams, Spain has scored the fewest goals in the World Cup, but has yet to concede a goal. Led by prodigy Lamine Yamal, The Red One hope to make their first semifinal since they won the tournament in 2010. Spain advanced to the quarterfinals with a 1-0 win over Portugal on Monday at AT&T Stadium.

Belgium is coming off a 4-1 rout of the United States and has scored the second-most goals in the tournament. The Red Devils are looking for their first World Cup championship.

Spain is a -285 favorite to advance at DraftKings, implying a 74% probability.
