Bell pushes past North Crowley

Hurst L.D. Bell settled in behind its defense and the running of Terry Pace (63 rushing yards) and Ivan Traylor (54) in a 19-6 victory Friday at Pennington Field.

Key players: Pace and Traylor had the ground game under control, but Bell receiver Ricky Walton had 60 yards receiving. Walton and quarterback Austin Brougham got the offense going after two first-half pickoffs by North Crowley’s Michael Minor preserved a 0-0 halftime tie.

Key stat: Bell’s defense held North Crowley to 38 yards rushing. Panthers’ quarterback Caleb Leake ran for 50 yards, but the Blue Raiders’ defense held North Crowley to one first down at halftime and two through most of three quarters.

Records: North Crowley 0-2, Bell 1-1.
