Western Hills scuttles Jefferson behind big plays
Zack Smothermon completed 7 of 11 passes for 207 yards and three touchdowns to lift the Western Hills Cougars past Dallas Jefferson, 55-2, Thursday night at Farrington Field.
Key players: Western Hills’ DeTraylon Floyd had two receptions for 82 yards, both for scores, and LeRondre Alston scored on an 84-yard interception return to open the game and had another interception.
Key stat: Jefferson had two turnovers leading to two touchdowns, was penalized 10 times, and the offense limited to 40 yards in the first half as Western Hills built a 28-2 lead. Jefferson was limited to 85 total yards.
