Saginaw Boswell routs Fort Worth Dunbar
Quarterback Chris Delgado passed for two touchdowns and ran for another in the Pioneers’ 39-7 victory over the Wildcats on Thursday night at Clark Stadium.
Key players: Delgado had 201 total yards and three touchdowns, and Jay Garcia had a touchdown and 57 yards on 22 carries for Boswell. On defense, Boswell’s Jahmad Lumar had an interception and a fumble recovery. Dunbar QB Leon’te Cooper had 201 total yards and a 79-yard TD pass to Bryan Wilson.
Key sequence: Having held the Pioneers on three consecutive possessions, Dunbar took over with 32.9 seconds left in the second quarter but turned the ball over to Boswell, which took over at the Wildcats’ 11 with 22.6 seconds remaining. Simms hauled in his second TD reception to turn an 11-point game into an 18-point game at halftime.
