Fossil Ridge eases by Lamar

Keller Fossil Ridge overcame 16 penalties and a 10-0 deficit to beat Arlington Lamar in its season opener on Friday night at Keller ISD Athletic Complex.

Key players: Fossil Ridge quarterback Max Akin accounted for five touchdowns and 363 yards of offense. Arlington Lamar’s Devon Wright had two interceptions.

Key stat: Fossil Ridge accounted for 497 yards of offense, 308 through the air and held Lamar to just one yard rushing on 29 carries.
