FW Arlington Heights tops Weatherford
Fort Worth Arlington Heights had two big interceptions and held off Weatherford 21-12 on Friday night in a season opener at Kangaroo Stadium.
The Yellow Jackets dominated time of possession by more than 11 minutes and got six sacks from their defense in holding off a comeback by the Kangaroos.
Key players: Heights quarterback Jaiden Zackery rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown, and was 15-of-20 passing for 109 yards with a TD. Weatherford quarterback Corban Campbell completed 15 of 32 passes for 190 yards with a TD.
Key stat: The two interceptions by the Heights defense were at their own 14 and their own 22.
Records: Arlington Heights 1-0, Weatherford 0-1.
