Dallas Fort Worth-area high school football player of the week: Cedar Hill’s Kaidon Salter
Cedar Hill QB Kaidon Salter was voted DFW area high school football player of the week with 54% after a big 27-17 win over Denton Guyer to help the Longhorns clinch a spot in the state title game.
The Longhorns will play Katy in the 6A D2 championship at 1 p.m. Saturday at AT&T Stadium.
Salter, a 4-star Tennessee signee, helped Cedar Hill beat Guyer with his arm and feet, throwing for 190 yards, running for 120 more and scoring 2 touchdowns. CH clinched a state berth for the first time since 2014.
Southlake Carroll RB Owen Allen came in second place with 46% after accounting for 245 yards of total offense, including 195 yards rushing and 2 TDs in the Dragons’ 34-27 win vs. Duncanville.
