Highland Park’s Chandler Morris, who led the Scots to 2018 state title, commits to OU

Highland Park 2020 quarterback Chandler Morris is committed to the University of Oklahoma, he announced on national TV during the Under Armour All-American game in Orlando on Thursday.

Morris is a 4-star prospect and ranked as the No. 14 dual-threat QB in the nation by 247Sports.

He was previously committed with Arkansas under his father, Chad Morris, who was the head coach until the school fired him during the season. Chad, who also was a head coach at SMU, is now the offensive coordinator at Auburn.

When his father moved, Chandler reopened his commitment.

In just two seasons as a starting QB, Morris was one of the best athletes in the state. He threw for nearly 7,700 yards and 88 touchdowns, and rushed for another 37 TDs in that span.

Morris threw for 4,000 yards and 45 TDs in 2018 as a junior, helping the Scots to a third consecutive state title.

The Scots went 27-2 during the last two seasons with Morris, with the only losses coming to Frisco Lone Star.

According to 247Sports, Morris had 15 offers from OU, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, Clemson, Boise State, Auburn, Kansas, Colorado, Colorado State, Indiana, North Texas, Kansas State, SMU, TCU and Southern Cal.
